Hear of a Lion- Kid Cudi

*does the I get to see my dude today dance

This is the first song I grew a liking for when I first listened to the Man on the Moon album. I was disappointed at first, (I didn't expect him to sing so much) but then all of the other songs grew on me in a serious way. So Cudi's always a good listen when I'm...doing stuff. Right now I'm in the media center at my school, bleh. I should probablly be doing something productive. I'll be a bum when I grow up anyways, so why put in work now? Phaha, just kiddin'. Lata- X, dee.

Different Names For The Same Thing- Death Cab For Cutie

They're my favorite indie band. Benjamin's voice is really nice, and I love the way he pronounces his words allll the way through. It sounds great. Today was a so-so day. Nothing special. I got a hunger headache at around 1:30, which for some people is okay because they'll be home in a few hours but for me it's death because I don't get out of school until 5. And home until 7. Blehhh. So I made myself a salad when I got home so I wouldn't have an excuse to not eat. Yup Yup.

I love having moments that kind of confirm the things you want to do in life. Like if you wanna be a stripper and strangers are always like, "Wow, your body is amazing, you should be a stripper." That sort of thing. I had an amazing moment with my mom today that confirmed my want to be a writer. I saw my mother, this woman who screams, yells, packs lunches, walks dogs, signs permission slips, and rules my household with an iron fist of german power, in a completely vulnerable state today. And without getting into too much mushy deatil, I saw my mother not as my mother but as a woman. And that doesn't happen often. I saw her as a person. And I appreciate moments like those. My mother could be anyone's mother but she's mine and for that, I'm glad. Because I'll grow up and write her stories and give her a voice that no one would hear otherwise. Yesh. Love you ma- X, dee.

Pass You By- Boys II Men

I know this seems random, but when I was little I used to LOVE this song. My dad used to play it in the car all the time, and he would whistle and I would just sing my little heart out. I love harmony, adn that's something that you'll get an abundance of with Boys II Men.

I love the snow! It's pretty. I think I'm the only one who thinks so though; like on my news feed everyone's like 'AHH, FML, I HATE THE SNOW, I MISS SCHOOL!!!!!'. Heh? How could you miss school? Maybe that's just me.

I wish I had a snow suit so I could jump into it. Hmn. Maybe I'l just layer up and give it a try today before it starts snowing again. Kay, I'm about to walk to 7-11. X, dee.

Final Destination- Nine Inch Nails

If you're into industrial rock, NIN is for you. Trent Reznor is an amazing talent, he plays all the instruments on every song he's ever written. He's absolutely amazing. If you're just giving Nine Inch Nails a listen, go first for The Downward Spiral, and his first album Pretty Hate Machine.

Music is such a major part of like, everything. It's crazy. Music inspires alot of what I do. Have you ever been in a metro station, listening to an awesome song and it just creates this really cool feeling/moment? Except I hate it when people are listening to like Britney Spears or Jeffrey Star and walk down the stret like their in some kind of warped music video. Lol, yeah that doesn't count. This is what I groove to:

Photobucket
Nirvana- If you know me, you know that Nirvana's been my favorite band forever. It's what I grew up to. They exude the very essence of what I love: grunge. It's lazy and passive and passionate and energetic all at the same time.

Photobucket
Radiohead- Listening to them has always just put me in a comfortable place. Like, when people decide to make music they aim to make listeners feel something, experience something. Not everyone achieves that, but Radiohead always has.

Photobucket
Mos Def- He's my favorite rapper. My dad first introduced him to me when I was like in the 6th grade. Ms. Fat Booty. Yup, after that it was like...over. His voice just sounds really great to me. I've seen him live once, hopefully it wasn't the last time.

Photobucket
Slipknot- One of my favorite metal bands. Cory Taylor's voice is one of the best in metal (or nu metal, whatever the hell that is).

Those are FEW among many. I'm just lazy. Bloc Party, Otep, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Death Cab For Cutie, Dance Gavin Dance, Lamb of God, Meshuggah, Adrian Archey, Katy Pery, Ke$ha (her single makes me shake my booty), TDWP, MGMT, M83, Passion Pit, Dwele, Common. It's always hard to list things when you're thinking of them specifically, right? Plus alot of stuff my boyfriend put me on to; Explosions In The Sky, Cloud Cult, Imogen Heap, Cut Copy, Of Montreal, Lykke Li...and some other stuff that escapes me. I'm hungry. X, dee.

Tik Tok- Ke$ha

"Wake up in the morning feelin' like P. Diddy"
I love this song! It's so catchy, and upbeat, and literally just makes me wanna get up and dance around like a little kid. This is Ke$ha's first single off of her album Animal, and everyone's catching on pretty fast. Go to her website www.keshaparty.com and read how she like, snuch into Prince's house and got kicked out. It's hilarious. She's definately a party girl. But, sadly enough, I'd have to inform everyone not to spend money on Ke$ha's album. It's not worth it, and you'll be thoroughly disappointed in it. Although she either wrote or co-wrote every song, it doesnt really say much. Quoted directly from Ke$ha's Your Love Is My Drug: "My friends think I've gone crazy, my judgent is kinda hazy. My status is gonna be effected if I keep it up like a love sick crack head". What? The writing is mediocre, as well as the singing. In my personal opinion, if you're going to do the talk-sing thing, then go all the way with it, like Uffie (Pop The Glock- give it a listen). This album is full of annoying loops of semi techno pop beats. You'll want to kill yourself after 3 songs. Not including Tik Tok though- awesome song.

Hello World. I woke up this morning, and looked out of the window and it was snowing. meep. Quite the downer. Snow is fun, i love it, it's pretty. Just not when it wrecks my plans. Auh. I wish everyone didn't stop wearing snow suits at the age of like 7. Then I wouldn't feel so completely weird about really (really, really) wanting one. Hmn, oh shwell. Speaking of sucky weather, I went into Aldo yesterday with my friend Lauren and saw these rain boots that were really amazing. I walk past Aldo all the time, but everyone in there usually look like douche bags & there's always like 12 gay guys consulting chicks on things that look...."fierce". Smh. Here that are:

I think I'll get those in the near future. They were only like $45! Thas all for now. X, dee.
