No One's Gonna Love You- Band of Horses

This song has an amazing sound. It sounds fresh. The lyrics are amazing, and that opening guitar is just like awesome to me. Ben Bridwell's voice is one of my favorite voices. I started listening to Band of Horses when my bf put this song on a mixed cd. His voice is beyong words. Their new album Infinite Arms is amazing also. You can tell that they were going for something slightly different, but I love the sound.

Listening to Dear, Goodnight after the other day was alot harder than I ever imagined it being. I cried through the whole thing, literally. I pick up my phone every hour and almost text you, but I don't because I know you won't text me back. It was hard to sleep last night. I keep almost breaking until I realize that wanting to take everything back wouldn't matter. Nothing I could say could make you feel any different than you do now- which I can only guess because you're not talking to me.

I'd Do It All Again- Corinne Bailey Rae

The opening of this song gets me every single time. I love Corinne, and the way she sounds and writes. "Oh, you're searching for something I know wont make you happy. Oh, you're thirsting for something I know wont make you happy." It's just like, what? Ya know. It's so relateable. I feel like that! Geesh. It's crazy. This and Are You Here are two of my favorites off of her new album The Sea. I love it. I love her. I love this song real hard right now.

I'm so comfortable with the way things are, the way things used to be. But I want so desperately for things to change. It has nothing to do with being bored...unsatisfied...uncontent. Nothing. I just know I need it. I know it's right. I feel like I know what I want, but when asked I have no clue. It's ridiculous. Music music music. xo.

There There- Radiohead

This is off of their 2009 Hail to the Chief album. It's really good. You know when something is so good, you kind of can't even think of how to describe it? That's how Thom Yorke's voice makes me feel. It's unsettling, and calming, and soft and strained in moments and all at once. This, and Everything In Its Right Place is really ringing true for me right now. Things have been kind of chaotic and stagnant and bleh and music is...doing a great job at keeping me from having a panic attack. lol. It is morning, and I'm still tired. I'll lay down. Goodbye.

Wiz Khalifa- Who I Am

This song puts me in a really really relaxed mood. It's really chill and layed back, and just automatically makes you sing along with it. Wiz Khalifa is an awesome rapper- if you're not bothered by excessive weed references. He difenitely grows on you. All of his hooks are always really really good without being cheesy. If you're just jumping into the Wiz pool, start of with Say Yeah and then move into more of his Deal or No Deal mixtape. His new mixtape is Kush & OJ, and it's really good. I love it.

I don't have time to talk about me, let's talk about you :) X, dee

Over- Drake

Even though everyone loves this song, and it's always on the radio, I still really like it. The hook is very, well, catchy. So job well done, Drake, I can't get this out of my head! At times I don't like the way his voice sounds, like all high and weird, but yeah.

I haven't posted in a long while, I just sort of forgot about it I guess. Since I periodically check up on 930 club website (www.930.com) I saw last week that Corinne Bailey Rae was coming to town May 15. I was soooo excited. Three days later- SOLD OUT. I obviously wasn't the only excited one. Smh. Anywho, the good news is that she'll be in Baltimore the following night, so if you really want to see her go to www.ramsheadlive.com tickets are only $27.50, and I heard Ram's Head Live is a pretty great venue so enjoy! Unfortunately I don't have a way of getting down there, so you won't be seeing me. Don't cry for me though, I have her new album The Sea, and it's great. I'll just blast it May 16 on repeat. Haha. www.ramsheadlive.com/directions on how to get there from D.C., Maryland & Virginia. Yay. Later-xo,dee.

Knife Party- Deftones

I'm always in the mood to listen to Deftones. Chino's voice is like sex candy. All the joys of sex in candy form. Wha? Hahahahahahahaha. Sigh. I'm feeling kind of tired today. I have an apple that I'm saving for after lunch but I don't think I'll be able to wait that long.

What committee came to the conclusion that nap was unnecessary after kindergarten? (Why did I just google how to spell kindergarten, because I could have sworn it was spelled kindergarden because that looks better than kindergarten and no one pronounces it that way. That just blew my mind). 5 year olds aren't the only ones who get cranky in the middle of the day. Okay, maybe it's a little unnecessary like 3rd-6th grade, but I'm thinking once you hit middle school we should bring back an optional nap time. Just two hours of sleep. That would save my life. Oh shwell. I should use this time before class starts at 10. Later-X,dee.

We Never Change- Coldplay

I haven't been able to stop playing this song lately. I've always liked Coldplay, but recently, with it being my guy's favorite group, i guess my eyes have opened to the extent of their amazingness. And I found my USB chord so I was able to put tons of it on my ipod. Haha, yesh that helped quite a bit. This song just puts me in a very contemplative state. It's one of my favorite songs.

This isn't in any order:
Blue Light- Bloc Party
Brothers on a Hotel Bed- Death Cab for Cutie
Database Corrupted- The Dealership
We Never Change- Coldplay

Those are my favorite songs. It's weird, because people always ignorantly assume that all I listen to is metal, but that couldn't be more wrong. I mean I love metal, but like I said before I adore indie and soul and ska and alt and hiphop and industrial as well. All sorts of stuff.

Tomorrow is my bestfriend's birthday. Her name's Kiara. I wish I remembered the name of her blog, but I don't. I'll post it later. She's turning 18. I'm so excited. She lives down the street from me so I'll get her a cupcake and a candle and bring it to her house after school. SSSHHHHH, don't tell her :)

For a late birthday present, I'm taking her to see Wiz Khalifa at 9:30 on the 28th. She has a sick infatuation for him, it's adorable. Hopefully they don't have a rule against jerking off in public there, we might get put out.

On April 6th I plan to (hopefully) take Christofher (bf) to see The Torrent Trap. I don't think he reads this, so nobody tell him, haha. (I think it's funny that I direct this to imaginary people- nobody reads this stuff) After he saw this Rhapsody commercial with Sweet Disposition in it he went like crazy and put their album on his ipod.

I have a performance today at Busboys & Poets on U st for my department. Hopefully I do well, I need to memorize my piece. They sale alcohol so maybe the audience'll be too wasted to recognize. My fingers are crossed. Later- X, dee.
